he saddle of tractor and the traction pin of semi-trailer, as the key parts of the semi-trailer, are subjected to multi-dimensional spatial torque, alternating load and dynamic impact force during the operation of the vehicle. The force system is complex and the use requirements are high. As a class a key stressed part of the main hitch connection, the saddle and traction pin are standard parts with strict and mandatory technical standards from material, manufacturing and processing technology, dimensional tolerance to inspection and test.

Generally speaking, the quality of saddle and traction pin itself will not have any problems, but many traction pin wear and saddle damage faults found in the market are often caused by inadequate daily maintenance, which is easy to ignore.

Maintenance and precautions for newly connected Special Semi-Trailer

After newly receiving the trailer and the main vehicle, carefully check whether there are bumps, burrs, welding slag, welding beading and other foreign matters on the surface of the saddle of the main vehicle and the surface of the trailer traction plate. If there is any, it shall be repaired in time, otherwise the saddle and traction plate will be abnormally worn and pulled in the later stage.

After cleaning the saddle and traction plate, when adding grease for the first time, try to add blue, black gray and Tan lithium base grease (lithium base high-pressure black (brown) grease containing graphite calcium base or molybdenum dioxide is recommended).

If the main vehicle saddle and trailer traction plate have been coated with butter (applied by the dealer or delivery company), it is recommended to thoroughly clean the coated grease after receiving the vehicle, carefully check the main vehicle saddle and trailer traction plate to ensure that their surfaces are clean and free of foreign matters, and then add lithium-based grease.
