Self-propelled hydraulic modular vehicle's steering system introduction-part 4

Self propelled modular trailers' steering mode

The steering modes of modular vehicles can be roughly divided into two types. One is mechanical pull rod steering, and the steering angle is generally 55 ° ~ ± 60 °. According to the requirements of the manufacturer, it can realize eight character, half eight character or oblique steering modes. When transporting oversized objects, module cars can be spliced horizontally or vertically. This kind of module car can only realize one steering mode, and the steering is simple, reliable and low-cost. It is mainly used in the field of shipyard or road transportation.

Mechanical pull rod steering mechanism can be divided into three types: pull rod steering mechanism, gear rack steering mechanism and worm gear steering mechanism. These steering mechanisms have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Self propelled modular trailers' pull rod steering mechanism

The pull rod steering mechanism first appeared in the hydraulic trailer designed by Nicolas company in Germany, and then was transplanted to the hydraulic module vehicle.
The steering principle of the mechanism is: the middle steering plate is driven by the hydraulic cylinder, and the middle steering plate drives the four-bar linkage to realize the steering of the wheel set.
This structure is simple and reliable, but there is only one steering mode, and the maximum steering angle generally can not exceed 55 °. Due to the single steering mode, the vehicle can not realize flexible steering, and this structure has been rarely used in the design.
