The 8615 type lifting appliance is a retractable backpack type lifting appliance used for multimodal transportation of ISO containers and trailers with a load capacity of less than 41 tons. The 8615 model is designed for installation on rail mounted (RMG) or rubber tire mounted (RTG) cranes.
The powerful basic concept provides some advantages, such as two parallel expansion beams, ensuring maximum overlap. The size of the crossbeam can not only absorb vertical forces, but also absorb very large horizontal forces.
The twist lock system adopts a sturdy design and has been well validated over the years. The 8615 has a hard, suspended ISO quick exchange twist lock, hydraulically activated, with electrical and mechanical interlocks to prevent incorrect locking and unlocking.
Expansion and contraction are powered by a hydraulic cylinder inside each crossbeam. The dual electric motor and pump components ensure the simultaneous expansion and contraction of the two crossbeams. The lifting appliance can be operated by an electric motor and pump.
The arrangement of the legs is based on the ELME design system, which is a load clamping system that involves the automatic sequence of all four foldable carrying legs. Due to this feature, the spreader can be lowered between the containers stacked in front, back, and left.
The support legs are designed according to European standards and are made by Strenx ® Made of 900E material (conforming to S 890 QL) to extend service life. The sensor (integrated into the support legs) detects when the trailer is clamped and sends a signal to the indicating system. To avoid loosening, a signal will also be issued when the container/trailer is lifted off the ground.
